A tour of Settings

Settings lives in the account menu (your avatar, top right). It’s organized into three groups. What your role can’t manage simply isn’t shown, so your screen may be shorter than this list.

Everything here is per company, and needs an owner or admin.

  • Business: the big one. Your address, phone, and email (with per-field switches for showing them on invoices and estimates), your logo, the reply-to address for outgoing email, and how the business is set up. It also holds four quiet settings that change your numbers; those get their own page. Closing a business, and the new-EIN takeover flow, live here too: Running more than one business.
  • Accounts: every place your money sits (checking, savings, the cash box, a credit card), so payments and expenses can say where money moved. Context: You and the business.
  • Tax: your named sales-tax rates. Full page: Sales tax rates.
  • Payments: card payments via Stripe, plus the offline methods you accept. Full guide: Accept card payments.
  • Email templates: the wording of the emails your customers get. Full page: The emails customers get.
  • Reminders: the automatic chasing schedule for unpaid invoices. Covered in Record getting paid.
  • AI: connect a provider and turn on the AI features. Full guide: The AI in your books.
  • Import & export: bring contacts and items in from CSV, download the everything-ZIP (your data is yours), and enter starting balances if you’re arriving from another system.
  • Activity: recent changes across the whole workspace, newest first, each expandable to see exactly what changed. The same History that every record shows, in one feed.
  • About: the versions you’re running, the app’s and the server’s. If the server is behind what the app was built to expect, a quiet note on the Server row says so; useful mid-upgrade on a self-hosted install.
