Log your driving
Business driving is one of the most under-claimed deductions there is. Mileage (in the account menu) makes each trip a five-second habit: date, miles, what for. Logged.
Log a trip
Section titled “Log a trip”One row: Date, Miles, What for (“Drove to the Miller place”), and which Vehicle. The page shows today’s IRS rate per mile, and the year’s running total sits right at the top, in miles and dollars.
Say what the trip was for every time. As the app puts it, that’s what makes the deduction stick if it’s ever questioned. Regular route? The Again button re-logs a past trip with today’s date.
Your vehicles
Section titled “Your vehicles”Add each vehicle you drive for work (the F-150, the van). The IRS asks a few questions about every work vehicle: when you first used it for work, whether you also drive it personally, whether you have another car for personal use. Thalermark collects the answers now so there’s nothing to reconstruct in April, and it nags gently if a vehicle is missing answers.
Sold the truck? Retire it. Logged trips keep their miles and the deduction; it just leaves the picker for new trips.
Trips to a job can be logged right from the job’s page, same log, prefilled purpose.
