Customers and contacts
Contacts is one list for everyone: the people you bill and the people you buy from. You never have to file anyone as a “customer” or a “vendor”. Thalermark works that out from what you do. Bill someone, they count as a customer; buy from them, they count as a vendor. Same person can be both.
Adding people
Section titled “Adding people”Mostly, you won’t. The fastest way to add a contact is while invoicing or logging an expense, right in the picker. For the full form, Contacts → + New contact: name, email, phone, address, notes.
Two conveniences worth knowing:
- Address autocomplete: type the street (include the city or ZIP) and pick a suggestion; the rest of the address fills itself in.
- Dupe warnings: type a name or email that looks like someone you already have, and Thalermark shows the match with an Open button before you create a twin.
What a contact’s page tells you
Section titled “What a contact’s page tells you”Open anyone you’ve billed and the page turns into a briefing:
- Billed in the last 12 months, owed now, and estimates won.
- Payment reliability: “Always pays on time (8 invoices)”, or how often they pay late and by how many days. Worth a glance before you agree to net-30 again.
- What you usually bill them, and their billing by month.
- The full History of every change.
Statements
Section titled “Statements”The Statement button builds a clean summary of every invoice and payment with a running balance, for the customer who asks “what do I owe you again?” Email it directly, or Print / save PDF.
Archiving
Section titled “Archiving”Contacts are never deleted. Archive hides someone from the pickers while every invoice and expense that names them stays intact. Restore brings them back.
