Send an invoice
Create it
Section titled “Create it”- Open Invoices in the top bar and click + New invoice.
- Pick the Contact. Start typing a name; if they’re not in your list yet, choose + Add “…” as a new contact and give them a name and email right there. (The email is optional, but you’ll need it to send by email.)
- The Number, Issued date, and Due date are pre-filled, with due defaulting to 30 days out. Change anything you like.
- Add line items: describe the work, set quantity and price. Typing in the description also searches your items list, so you can pick a saved item and the price, unit, and tax settings fill in.
- Charging sales tax? Tick Taxable on the line and pick a rate. The tax total is always worked out from the lines; you never type it.
- Click Create invoice.
The invoice is saved as a draft, and nothing has gone to the customer yet. You land on the invoice’s own page, which is where everything else happens.
Send it
Section titled “Send it”Click Send invoice. Thalermark emails your customer a link to a clean, branded copy of the invoice they can open on any device, with a Pay button if you’ve set up card payments and your other accepted payment methods listed.
Other options under the send button:
- Send to a different email… is a one-off override, without editing the contact.
- Mark sent without email is for invoices you hand over some other way. Either way you get a Share link you can text or message to anyone.
After it’s sent
Section titled “After it’s sent”The invoice page tells you what happened: when the customer opened it, and, if the email bounced, failed, or was marked as spam, that it never reached them, with plain advice on what to do next.
From here:
- Record getting paid: full, partial, or deposits.
- Fix a mistake: pull it back, correct it, resend.
- Duplicate reuses any invoice as the starting point for a new one.
- Void cancels it for good; the customer’s link stops working.
