Invoices that repeat themselves
For work you bill on a rhythm (every Tuesday at the Chens’, a monthly retainer), set up a repeating invoice once and stop thinking about it.
Set up a schedule
Section titled “Set up a schedule”From Invoices, open the menu on the invoice button and choose Set up a repeating invoice (or Repeating invoices to see the ones you have).
The schedule asks for:
- Contact and the first invoice date.
- Frequency: weekly, monthly, or yearly, plus Repeat every for things like every-other-week (set it to 2).
- Payment terms: how many days after each invoice goes out it’s due.
- Optionally an End date or Stop after N invoices. Leave both blank and it runs until you say otherwise.
- The line items, exactly like a normal invoice. The totals card shows what each generated invoice will come to.
What happens on the day
Section titled “What happens on the day”On schedule, Thalermark creates the invoice, numbers it, issues it, and emails it to the customer. No draft waiting for you, no morning task. Each generated invoice then behaves like any other: it can be paid, chased by reminders, even pulled back and fixed.
The schedule’s page lists every invoice it has created, shows the next run, and has a Generate next now button when you don’t feel like waiting.
